Knitting Wild Theressa Silver Books Reviews

  • I love this little book. It is an homage both to nature and to knitting. The book contains essays about the natural world, natural parks, and animals. The patterns are names after elements of nature such as 'Synchronous Firefly', 'Glacier', 'Trillium', and 'Sage-Grouse'.

The patterns in this book are mainly hats, cowls, hand coverings and shawls. Most of the patterns are written out and charts are kept to a minimum. YEA!!

    I highly recommend this book.
  • Knitting Wild is an important and delightful book for both nature lovers and knitters. And very often that is one and the same person. This book is a joy to read. And wonderful to look at. And a treasure of knitting patterns. The photography add another dimension rarely seen in knitting books. Silver, who has a Masters Degree in biology, writes with grace and knowledge about the parks in our country and then converts this love of nature into knitting patterns that reflect this. A knitter will enjoy the challenge in these well thought out and symbolic patterns. I love this book. The knitters on my list are going to be receiving this for their holiday gift.
  • There are so many patterns I'd like to make, and the photos and backgrounders about the national parks that inspired the patterns are great reading. Knitters will really enjoy this book.
  • Beautiful photos, wonderful patterns, and an informative read on the beautiful parks of North America. I was so excited to get this in the mail today! Cowls, hats, shawls, and accessories... can't wait to cast on!
