- If you're an analyst or administrator trying to devise clean visualizations for floods of data, you can save yourself a lot of time and heartache by investing in this one. It's slim, clearly written and thorough. I've been working on a project to illustrate 10+Tb/day input streams making their way through the stages of processing in our Hadoop cluster. This book gave me several new ideas for approaching my problem areas, which (for me at least) made the cover price worthwhile.
It walks you though everything from data sampling to graphic design and talks about the pros and cons of the choices you make at each stage. Usually there's some kind of code example and a diagram or two to illustrate the end product.
